Side decks of exactly 15 cards are optional. Tournament will start approximately at 2:30pm if we have at least 4 players, please try to arrive at least 15 minutes early. Standard floor rules will be followed.

We continue to work through the process with Wizards of the Coast to obtain the official FNM support. In the meantime, we will continue to run DCI sanctioned events each Friday night - so at least you get points (if we get at least 8 people).
For August, we're lowering our draft price to $12.50. (It will still be $4 if you bring your own packs.) Prize pool will still be the same - one booster per entrant with approximately 70% going to first and 30% to second.

We have the foil participation and prize cards for the month of August. Each new participant in the month will receive one of the foil participation cards, and the top 4 finishers in each weekly event also receive a special foil prize card.
For booster draft each player is given 3 booster packs. Players open a pack, select one card, and pass the pack to their right. Continue selecting and passing until the first packs are used up. Second pack passes to the left, third to the right. Players then construct their decks with the cards they drafted and play matches to determine the winners. You keep all the cards you drafted.
Entry fee: $15 - includes the booster packs.
Prizes for 1st through 4th place.

This is casual / league play - it is not a sanctioned tournament and will not affect or earn you any ratings points. For more information on league play - please refer to the Pokemon-TCG web-site.
Entry fee: Free!!! (for the month of August while we get things started)

Dreamblade
The newest game from the folks at Wizards of the Coast. This game is going to get great tournament support, and we hope to run many events for it in the upcoming months. Check out the Wizards web-site for more info on the game.
We'll crack open a couple of starters and run some demos in the store on this day. Come in and see what it's all about - play a few games to get a feel for it. There is no fee for this event.

Help us kick off our Grand Opening Week sale with our first ever Settlers of Catan tournament.
Play format:
2-6 people: Single game with the 5-6 player expansion pack if needed. Winner takes all (no time limit).
7-16 people: We'll have to play multiple games/rounds. The store only has a single open copy of the game, so we will be looking for volunteers to bring in their copies from home (or it will be a long night). We will do 3-4 people per game, each game with a 60 minute time limit. We'll play 2 or 3 rounds depending on the number of players. Highest victory point total at the end of the last round is the winner. I.e., if in round 1 you had 7 victory points at the end of the game, and at the end of round 2 you had 8, your total score for the evening would be 15 points. In the event of a tie - we will play one no time limit final game - winner takes all.
Entry Fee: $2 (includes a can of pop, or water).
Prize: A Travel Edition Settlers of Catan Game (or equivalent store credit if that doesn't work for you).

Though the emphasis in on horror games like Call of Cthulhu, Mythos, Buffy, Vampire, All Flesh Must be Eaten, Zombies, etc, all sorts of games are available and welcomed! We'll have lots of roleplaying games, miniature games like HeroClix, card games like Magic: The Gathering, and live action roleplaying. Tickets are available in the store and they provide pre-registration for the full weekend for $20. Registration is at the VGG Con Schedule (link is on the VGG web-site).
