This month we are using the unlimited format - meaning you can use cards from any Pokemon set.  Bring your own 60 card deck containing any amount of basic energy cards and up to 4 copies each of any other card from any set.  (We have pre-constructed decks for sale in the store if you don't have a deck.) Play different opponents and earn points - 10 points per game with 10 bonus points if you win. Earn enough points to get prizes! This is casual / league play - it is not a sanctioned tournament and will not earn you any ratings points.  For more information on league play - please refer to the Pokemon-TCG web-site.

Entry fee: Free!!!

Prizes: Based on your point totals - the more you play, the more you get. For example at 110 points you earn a special 2-card booster pack. You don't have to get all 110 points on the same day - come back each week and keep adding to your point total.

League play on Sunday from approximately Noon till 3:00pm.  League play is casual - you can arrive late, get in a few games and leave early if needed.  Most players tend to show up around 1pm.  Due to other events starting on Sunday afternoon around 4pm, we ask players to make room if needed (i.e., if you are still playing when the other event is supposed to start - please allow the other game to begin).

Pokemon League Play

We have an official Pokemon League - come join us for some Pokemon fun.

Start: 1:00 pm
End: 5:00 pm

Enrty Fee: $5.00

Prizes:

in 3 or more Hobby League events (at either store) in January and
receive a Hobby League participation parallel rare while supplies last
(one per player per month). The prize pool consists of champion or
tournament packs while supplies last, or boosters of the most recent
set we have in stock. Size of the pool depends on the number of players
in the event (generally 1 pack per player in the tournament). Prize
pool is split between the top 2 (9 or less people), or top 4 (10 or
more people). The winner gets at least 50% of the prize pool.

Additional
prizes are given away at the last tournament of the month based on
total match wins for the month (and if that is tied - number of events
played will be used). So the more often you play, the better your
chance for one of these prizes. Additional prizes may include some of
the following items depending on availability: playmats, t-shirts,
parallel rare cards, or booster packs.

Sign-up on our web-site
and register for this event. Registration means we will hold you a spot
in the tournament (up until 5 minutes before the event starts) and we
will send you a reminder e-mail the day before the event.

Worldwide D&D Game Day

Come in and check out the new 4th Edition rules in a fun and free evening.  Wizards of the Coast supplies us with everything we need for a great night of D&D fun.  We have 2 DM's lined up so far, sign up in-store to guarantee your spot.  No rules knowledge required - a great way to get introduced to the game.  As a player, you'll be handed a pre-generated character and a d20 to take home with you (and possibly more free stuff).  Each group of daring adventurers (4-6 players and one DM per group) will embark on a one-night adventure - are you up to the challenge?

If you're interested in DM'ing come in and let us know - you'll get the adventure module ahead of time to prepare, and you get loads of other great swag as well.

As 4th Edition of D&D was released on the 6th (the day before this event) we expect everyone to be a little inexperienced with the rules.  So if you've never played D&D before but have always wondered what it was all about - now is a great time to jump in.  If your an old-hand at D&D this is a low-commitment way to check out the new rules to see what they've changed in the game (knowing what I know already - I'm pretty sure most of you will like the changes).

World of Warcraft - Constructed

This is a Battlegrounds Hobby League event.

Entry Fee: $5

Prizes: Extended art prize cards for the top 4 and booster packs for top 2 (if we have 8 or less people) or top 4 (if we have 9 or more).

Format: Constructed deck

There are only a few rules you need to follow when building your deck:

Your deck must include at least 60 cards, not counting your starting hero. Your hero starts the game in play, and it isn’t considered a part of your deck.

You can’t include more than four copies of a single card in your deck unless that card has “unlimited” in its type line. You may include any number of unlimited cards in your deck.

Some ability cards can only be used by a hero who has a certain talent spec. Those cards will have “[Talent Spec] Hero Required” in bold in their text box.

You can include only cards that share one or more trait icons with your hero in your deck. Some neutral cards don’t have any trait icons. You can put those cards into any deck.

For additional rules - refer to the Upper Deck Web Site.

Pokemon League Play

We have an official Pokemon League - come join us for some Pokemon fun.

Casual World of Warcraft TCG Night!

Format: Open Gaming, Raids, Two-Headed Ogres, constructed Gurubashi Grand Melees, Trading and other shinnanigans.

The idea: WoW is actually a lot of fun to play casually since it has a lot of fantasy elements and adventuring elements in it. In that vein We've set up an evening (with new later hours) where you can come and play for fun instead of standings. Bring down a min 60 card deck with No Epics. Theme Decks and Raid decks are definetely the way to go so bring on that Stalling/Control//Healer because Rida's Paladin could use some help.

Price: Free admittance (Sealed events not withstanding)

Check out our Forums here for more information and to meet the other players.

Start: 5:00 pm
End: 9:00 pm
