Magic the Gathering Sealed League
 
Entry Fee: $10.50 (the cost of 3 booster packs)
 
The league will last the for the month of February.
 
Each player receives 2 booster packs of Dark Ascension and 1 booster pack of Innistrad and must make a 40-card minimum deck using the cards they open from those booster packs and basic lands that we provide. Each week after the first, a player can add an additional booster pack of Innistrad or Dark Ascension to their sealed pool.
 
We record the matches that each player plays. For every 5 matches you play (win or lose) you will receive an entry into a raffle that will be drawn at the end of the month. League matches can be played on Tuesday and Friday evenings.
 
Prizes include promo card packages, posters, Magic the Gathering product and singles, discount coupons and more!

MTG: Dark Ascension Launch Party

Main Event:

Format: Sealed deck.  3 packs Innistrad, 3 packs Dark Ascension

Registration from 11am - Noon, packs handed out at Noon, first round at 12:30pm.  The number of rounds will depend on the number of players per:

 

  • 8 players: 3 rounds
  • 9-16 players: 4 rounds
  • 17-32 players: 5 rounds
  • 32+ players: 6 rounds

 

Entry: $30*

Prizes: 3 packs per player into the prize pool, prizes to all players with 50% win percentage or better (2-1-1 in a 4 round event, 3-2 in a 5 round event, etc...)

We will be running side event 8-man, single-elimination, booster drafts as the pods fill up (and as space allows).  Registration for the first draft will open at Noon.  Prizes 5-3-2-2, Entry: $15*

Pokémon League Play

We have an official Pokemon League - come join us for some Pokemon fun.

We use the unlimited format - meaning you can use cards from any Pokemon set.  Bring your own 60 card deck containing any amount of basic energy cards and up to 4 copies each of any other card from any set.  (We have pre-constructed decks for sale in the store if you don't have a deck.) Play different opponents and earn stamps - one stamp per game. Earn enough stamps to get great prizes! This is casual / league play - it is not a sanctioned tournament and will not earn you any ratings points.  For more information on league play - please refer to the Pokemon-TCG web-site.

Entry fee: Free!!!

Prizes: Earn stamps to get great promo cards and other prizes from time to time.

League play on Sunday runs from approximately Noon till 3:00pm.  League play is casual - you can arrive late, get in a few games and leave early if needed.  Most players tend to show up around 1pm.  We often run sanctioned tournaments on Sunday during or after the league if there is enough interest.  Tournaments have an entry fee and booster pack prizes - all participants receive some form of prize.

  • 3rd and 4th place: 10% each of the prize pool

NOTE: If we have 14 or more people in the draft, we will split into 2 pods.  Wizards Event Reporter will be used to determine final standings after the swiss rounds.

If you're not sure how to draft, come in early or on another day and we'll be happy to explain it to you.  In a nutshell - you get 3 booster packs, open your pack, pick a card, and pass it to the person next to you.  You continue picking and passing until you have 45 cards which you keep.  You build a minimum 40 card deck from the cards you selected - the store provides the basic lands (please remember to return them at the end of the night).  Then we play a small tournament to determine the winner.

These are DCI sanctioned events.  Straight swiss - no cut.

Doors open at 11am, Registration ends at 11:30am (or once the line is processed).  Be in line by no later than 11:20 please.

Magic the Gathering - Casual Play

Promo's will be given out for sanctioned casual events (and no - these events will not affect your rankings).  We'll run Archenemy, EDH, Standard, multi-player, or whatever people feel like.  Don't have a deck - don't worry, we or someone there can probably loan you one for the evening.

Show up when you can between 6pm and 9pm.

D&D Encounters

Each week players continue the ongoing story with a single encounter - usually 60-90 minutes in duration.

New players are always welcome, they even provide pre-generated characters if you don't have time or don't know how to make your own.   

This season runs from Feb 22nd - May 9th.  Jump in at any time, the DM will re-cap the story to date for you to catch you up if need be.

This season is called: Eldar Elemental Eye.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Advanced Format - Hobby League

Format: Advanced Constructed.  Please refer to YuGiOh-card.com for a list of limited and forbidden cards.

Entry: $5 - Each player receives a turbo pack or duelist pack with entry. *32 player maximum. First come, first serve.

Prizes: Turbo Packs (when available), booster packs of recent sets, and/or store credit are awarded to the top 4 players after the swiss rounds.  The number of rounds will depend on the number of players per:

  • 4-8: 3 rounds
  • 9-16: 4 rounds
  • 17-32: 5 rounds
  • 33+: 6 rounds

These are sanctioned Konami events, so please remember to bring your COSSY Id card.  If you do not have a COSSY Id card yet, we can assign one to you at the event.  Please arrive before 5pm so we can start on time.

Draft price of $15.00. ($5 if you bring your own packs.)  We put $5 of store credit into the prize pool for each person in the draft.

  • 1st place: Foil prize card, 50% of prize pool
  • 2nd place: Foil prize  card, 30% of prize pool
  • 3rd and 4th place: 10% each of the prize pool
  • 2 randmon door prizes of foil prize cards

NOTE: If we have 14 or more people in the draft, we will split into 2 pods.  Wizards Event Reporter will be used to determine final standings after the swiss rounds.

If you're not sure how to draft, come in early or on another day and we'll be happy to explain it to you.  In a nutshell - you get 3 booster packs, open your pack, pick a card, and pass it to the person next to you.  You continue picking and passing until you have 45 cards which you keep.  You build a minimum 40 card deck from the cards you selected - the store provides the basic lands (please remember to return them at the end of the night).  Then we play a small tournament to determine the winner.

These are DCI sanctioned events.  Straight swiss - no cut.

The league will last the for the month of February.
 
Each player receives 2 booster packs of Dark Ascension and 1 booster pack of Innistrad and must make a 40-card minimum deck using the cards they open from those booster packs and basic lands that we provide. Each week after the first, a player can add an additional booster pack of Innistrad or Dark Ascension to their sealed pool.
 
We record the matches that each player plays. For every 5 matches you play (win or lose) you will receive an entry into a raffle that will be drawn at the end of the month. League matches can be played on Tuesday and Friday evenings.

The War-Torn Alliances League is 6 week event in which players will earn League points throughout for the first 5 games they play each week at our location. Entry will be $5 for the entire season. Games can be played from 15 points and upward. The player with the most points gets the Champion medal, all players receive participation patches and commendation patches for completing specific tasks in the season. Full league rules are on the Privateer website under organized play.

Pokémon League Play

We have an official Pokemon League - come join us for some Pokemon fun.

We use the unlimited format - meaning you can use cards from any Pokemon set.  Bring your own 60 card deck containing any amount of basic energy cards and up to 4 copies each of any other card from any set.  (We have pre-constructed decks for sale in the store if you don't have a deck.) Play different opponents and earn stamps - one stamp per game. Earn enough stamps to get great prizes! This is casual / league play - it is not a sanctioned tournament and will not earn you any ratings points.  For more information on league play - please refer to the Pokemon-TCG web-site.

Entry fee: Free!!!

Prizes: Earn stamps to get great promo cards and other prizes from time to time.

League play on Sunday runs from approximately Noon till 3:00pm.  League play is casual - you can arrive late, get in a few games and leave early if needed.  Most players tend to show up around 1pm.  We often run sanctioned tournaments on Sunday during or after the league if there is enough interest.  Tournaments have an entry fee and booster pack prizes - all participants receive some form of prize.
