News

  • The Victoria Dr. store is moving (well we're in the early stages of moving). By the time this newsletter goes out, we will have secured the lease on a new 1600 square foot location near the Renfrew Skytrain station (2943 Renfrew St.).  It will take us a month or two to complete the renovations but we plan to be open no later than July 1st.
  • FREE COMIC
BOOK DAY - MAY 2nd.  This will be our first free comic book day at the
Granville location, and of course we will be doing it at Victoria Dr as
well.  Come and get your free comics while supplies last.
  • The owner of the Comic Shop on West 4th made us an offer we could not refuse, and now we find ourselves in possession of the contents of what used to be the "dungeon" (the gaming section in their basement).  Our thanks go out to the Comic Shop for giving us the opportunity.  If you were a customer of their's, let us know.  It will take us a while to process all of the inventory we picked up, but, if you want it, and it was there - I'm sure we can dig it out for you (eventually).
  • New releases of Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Pokemon this month - be sure to check out all the special events (see below).
  • AT-43 fans may like to hear that Rackham has announced a new packaging effort - Army Boxes. Due out this summer the Army box will contain a full 2000 point force (that's pretty huge for those of you not familiar with the game) for an affordale entry level price (about $70 US).
  • The Origins Awards for best game in five different categories have been announced - check out the ICV2 article for all of the nominees. Some of our favourites of the past year, like Agricola and Dominion are of course on the list.
  • We're one of the sponsors for Anime Evolution this year (June 12-14 at the new Vancouver Convention Center). This is going to be a huge show with over 4500 guests anticipated, some great guests, and lots of cool stuff to check out.  If you've never been - come check it out this year.
