Warhammer 40k:

Drop-in open tables on Wednesday nights.

We're taking special orders for the upcoming large releases from Games Workshop - ask in store.

Heroclix:

Yes - you read correctly - Heroclix is back.  The first new set "Hammer of Thor" is scheduled for release on November 18th.  We expect to have regular Heroclix events at the Renfrew store after that.

COMICS

Watch for our table at Heritage Hall on November 15th - we'll be hauling most of our back-issues down there, so come by and buy some so we don't have as much to haul back .

In this month's "& Comics" article - Ronald lets you in on 5 DC ongoing series that you really should be following.  And as usual, check out the "& Comics page" for what's coming in each week.  If you want a particular title, remeber you can just click on the image - and if you've signed up with ComiXology you can add it to your pull list with us.

BOARD GAMES

In Keith's Korner this month - Keith recommends: Smallworld, with an honorable mention to Le Havre.

New in the store recently:

Dominion - Seaside Expansion - you'll need the base game or Intrigue to play this one.   If you've got Dominion, you'll want to pick this up - it adds some really interesting actions and new mechanics to the game.

Endeavor - designed by Carl de Visser, and Jarratt Gray.  Publishd by Z-Man Games.  This one will appeal to the Caylus, Puerto Rico, Agricola, and Le Havre fans in the audience.  A well balanced strategy game.  You'll likely need to play it more than once to develop a strategy.

The Adventurers and the Temple of Chac - designed by Frederic Henry and Guillaume Blossier.  Published by Alderac Entertainment Group.  This is a fun Indiana Jones style dugeon romp - light strategy, heavy on the fun.

Railways of the World - designed by Glenn Drover and Martin Wallace.  Published by Eagle Games.  This new base game for the "Railways of ______" series includes tons of bits including 150 plastic trains, and maps of the Eastern US and Mexico.  If you like Railway games, this is a must have for your collection.

And many more - lot's of new stuff has and is coming out as we approach the Christmas season (there I said it - sorry, I was really trying not to).  Anyway come in and check out all the cool new titles.

New releases expected in November (approximately) include:

• Munchkin Accessories - including a bag o' Babes pawns for Munchkin Quest (or any other game that uses pawns), and the Munchkin Kill-o-Meter - a level/life counter with a Munchkin theme.  Expected mid month.
• Agricola: Farmers of the Moor Expansion - mid month. An expansion for Agricola - do I need to say anything else?
  
• World without End - a game inspired by the Ken Follet novel of the same name. If you liked Pillars of the Earth (the game), I suspect you will also be a fan of this game as it was created by the same design team.  Expected late November.
• Dungeon Lords - are you a former D&D player, but you always preferred to be the evil character?  As an evil Dungeon Lord, here's your chance to build and manage an underground complex and stock it with hideous monsters and traps. A complex strategy game for experienced gamers. Published in North America by Z-Man Games and expected in late November.
• Steam Barons Expansion - an expansion for the Mayfair Games Steam.  It comes with maps of the Eastern US (and parts of Canada) and Northern England.   It has variant rules introducing a stock market to the game, and allows play from 2-6 players.  Expected late November.
• Power Grid - Factory Manager - a new stand-alone game in the world of Power Grid.  Published in North America by Rio Grande Games, I expect this will become an instant classic with Power Grid fans.  Expected late November.
• Small World expansions - Cursed, and Great Dames.  These expansions for this addictively fun new game are expected out in early December.  Check out Keith's take on Smallworld - in Keith's Korner this month.

And remember, every Monday evening is board game night at Granville, and Tuesday night is board game night at Renfrew. Come in and try out some of these great games with other similarly inclined adults.

ROLE-PLAYING GAMES

New D&D 4E releases on November 17th:

• Draconomicon 2: Metalic Dragons
• Monsterous Minis - Savage Encounters.  A new D&D minis monster set.

We're still running regular D&D games on Saturday nights at the Granville store.  We have 3-4 players interested in a regular game at Renfrew - if you want to set up a game at either store any time, just send me an e-mail at info(at)tcgaa.ca - DM's get to take stuff from our goody box (one item per session).

Warhammer Fantasy RPG - Introductory Adventure - Saturday November 14th at the Renfrew store.   Come check out the new release from Fantasy Flight Games - Rida will be your Game Master and seats are limited.   Book your spot now!

CARD GAMES

Magic the Gathering:

• Zendikar game day on Halloween - Saturday Oct 31st at Granville. Format: Standard, Entry: $10
• Duel Decks Garruk vs. Liliana goes on sale this Friday Oct 30th.  Initial quantities have been limited, so hopefully we will be able to re-order.
• Slivers are coming - the premium all foil Sliver deck is set to arrive on November 20th.  Get your name down on the pre-order list if you would like to guarantee yourself one of these limited edition decks.
  
• Thursdays at Granville are casual league play - join the sealed league or just show up and play/trade to earn foil promo cards.
• FNM is draft at both stores.  6pm (or so) at Renfrew, and 6:45pm at Granville.
• We recently acquired a large collection of older cards - Alpha through 4th Edition.  If you're looking for some older cards to finish your collection, check it out at the Granville store.

Yu-Gi-Oh!:

• REGIONALS!  We've finalized the arrangements for Regionals.  It will be on Saturday Dec 5th at the Renfrew store location.  We will start taking pre-registration a few weeks before the event.
• Duelist League for ages 13 and under continues at Granville on Saturdays in November.  Duelist league is open play advanced format.  Players will receive special promo cardsjust for playing.
• Hidden Arsenal will arrive on November 10th.  Discounted box pre-orders are available - ask in-store for details.
• Stardust Overdrive Sneak Peak wil be at Renfrew on Saturday Oct 31st, and on Sunday Nov 1st at Granville.  Stardust Overdrive goes on sale on November 17th - pre-orders are now available.  Buy it now to get a significant discount.
• Sunday Hobby League at Renfrew is cancelled for now.   Hobby league at Granville on Wednesday night is still on starting at 6pm.  These are un-sanctioned adcanced format tournaments.

Pokemon:

• Regular free Pokemon Hobby League continues on Sunday afternoons at the Granville store. NOTE: No Pokemon on Nov 1st (due to Yu-Gi-Oh! Sneak Peak).
• Pokemon Platinum Arceus goes on sale on Wednesday Nov 4th.
• If the go-pokemon site comes back up, we'll run a sanctioed draft on the Nov 8th after hobby league.  If it does not come back up, we'll run an un-sanctioned draft .  Either way, come in and have some fun opening packs from the new set.

Chaotic:

• Fall Regionals part 2 Sunday November 22nd at Granville - Constructed 6v6 format.

World of Warcraft TCG:

• WoW Battlegrounds events continue with the new and improved kit supplies on Monday nights in November at the Renfrew store.
• Scourgewar (new set) Sneak Peak Saturday November 22nd at Renfrew.
  

Legend of the Five Rings:

• Check out the hottness that is Celestial Edition L5R - it seems like everyone is playing it right now.  We'd like to set up regular weekly events - what day/time would work well for you?  Send an e-mail to info(at)tcgaa.ca and let us know.
• In the meantime drop by on Monday's at Renfrew or Tuesday's at Granville for some casual L5R games (or almost anytime actually as most of the staff now have decks).
