BOARD GAMES

In Keith's Korner this month - Keith recommends: Tobago plus some other great Christmas Gift Ideas.

New in the store recently or expected soon:

Tobago Box Cover Tobago - See Keith's article - this is a fun one.

Axis & Allies Pacific 1940 - this is the deluxe version of the original A&A Pacific. It features an over-sized board, two new units - tactical bombers and mechanized infantry, a new power ANZAC (Australia New Zealand combined forces), and the updated A&A rules debuted in the A&A Anniversary edition. We expect this in store on Dec 15th.

Small World expansions - Cursed, and Great Dames. These expansions for this addictively fun new game are expected in-store on December 2nd.

Rush 'n Crush. Did you ever play Car Wars? This updated re-print from AEG seems to be a board game version of that classic - players race their armed and armored cars in a bid to be first (or at least not die).

Penny Arcade the Card Game. From Fantasy Flight Games, a new fast, fun, 2-player game set in the world of the Penny Arcade Web-Comic.

And remember, every Monday evening is board game night at Granville, and Tuesday night is board game night at Renfrew. Come in and try out some of these great games with other similarly inclined adults.

We're still running regular D&D games on Saturday nights at the Granville store. We're always looking for more DM's, so if you want to set up a game at either store any time, just send me an e-mail at
info(at)tcgaa.ca - DM's get to take stuff from our goody box (one item per session).

Do you want us to carry an RPG title that we currently don't? Send us an e-mail and we'll see if we can't bring it in for you.

CARD GAMES

Magic the Gathering:

Provincial Championships - Saturday Dec 5th - BCIT Student Union Building - Standard Constructed.
Planechase is back in stock.
Thursdays at Granville are casual league play - join the sealed league or just show up and play/trade to earn foil promo cards.
FNM is draft at both stores. 6pm (or so) at Renfrew, and 6:45pm at Granville.
Standard at Renfrew (or other formats) - we're going to be running tournaments on Sundays at Renfrew starting in December. If we have enough people interested we'll sanction them, but to start these will just be casual events. We'll be giving out foil promo's just for showing up and playing some games - this month we have foil Vampire Nighthawk's and Kor Duelists (while supplies last).

Yu-Gi-Oh!:

REGIONALS! Saturday Dec 5th at the Renfrew store. Pre-registration is now open call the store at 604-327-4585 to sign up.
Duelist League for ages 13 and under continues at Granville on Saturdays in December. Duelist league is open play advanced format. Players will receive special promo cardsjust for playing.
We'd like to start running Pegasus League at Granville on Wednesday nights - check out the current deck building restrictions here. We have more Turbo packs on the way for prize support. These are still "unsanctioned" events.

Pokemon:

Regular free Pokemon Hobby League continues on Sunday afternoons at the Granville
store.
We will be running drafts or constructed tournaments each week after league if we have at least 8 interested people. These will be sanctioned events. Tournaments will start at approximately 2pm.
Arceus Holiday tins are expected in the store on Dec 16th (approximately).

Chaotic:

BATTLEDROME - HUGE PRIZES! Win a laptop - last chance qualifier and the main event Saturday Dec 19th. Constructed 6v6 format.
NOTE: The Fire & Stone pre-release has been post-poned until January.

Legend of the Five Rings:

We're now taking pre-orders for the next set of L5R - Harbinger. We expect it to arrive in mid-January.
L5R official event with prize support - Thursday December 10th at Renfrew (approximately 6pm start).
L5R casual nights: Tuesdays at Granville, Thursdays at Renfrew.
