BOARD GAMES

New in the store recently or expected soon:

Infinite City. In this new tile laying game, players compete to control the best areas of the city they are creating.  Many of the tiles you play have "gotcha" type actions that will mess with your opponents, but watch out, they'll get you back.  A fun 2-4 player 45 minute game.

Runewars - An Epic Fantasy Flight Empire building adventure game.  Check out the video preview on the Fantasy Flight games web-site.

Thunderstone. Do you like Dominion?  You might also like Thunderstone - build the best deck, collect weapons and level up your character, and be the one to survive and claim the Thunderstone.

Power Grid Brazil/Spain & Portugal Expansion - a new double sided map in a box to help with storage of this and other map expansions.

Dungeon Lords. Take a turn on the other side of the equation as a Dungeon Lord creating an impenetrable dungeon to thwart the heroes.  Hire monsters, build traps, and dig complex tunnel systems in this 2-4 person game.  This complex game is intended for experienced gamers that like a longer playing experience.

At the Gates of Loyang. The new Uwe Ronsenberg title follows along in a similar theme to his previous titles Agricola and Le Havre.  If you liked these titles, you'll want to check out this game.  Designed for 1-4 experienced gamers, the game is expected in the store in late February or early March.

And remember, every Monday evening is board game night at Granville, and Tuesday night is board game night at Renfrew. Come in and try out some of these great games with other similarly inclined adults.

CARD GAMES

Magic the Gathering:

• Worldwake - Release Events.  Saturday Feb 6th at Granville (11am reg, 11:30am start), Sunday Feb 7th at Renfrew (11am reg, 11:30am start).
• FNM is draft at both stores.  6pm (or so) at Renfrew, and 6:45pm at Granville.  We're thinking of switching the Renfrew events to Standard in March - comments?
• Extended on Thursdays (Granville) and Sundays (Renfrew).  We've got foil promo participation cards just for showing up, and we'll run un-sanctioned tournaments with prizes if there are enough people (yes you can use proxies).
• Worldwake Game Day - Saturday March 6th at Granville - 11am reg.
  

Yu-Gi-Oh!:

• Absolute Powerforce Sneak Peaks: Renfrew Saturday Feb 6th (11am reg opens), and at Granville on Sunday Feb 7th (11am reg opens).  Absolute Powerforce goes on sale Feb 16th, so come check out this cool set before it's widely available.
• NEW - Hobby League tournaments on Saturday night at Renfrew (6pm start).   $3.50 entry fee and we have Turbo Pack 2 as prize support.
• Hobby League continues at Granville on Wendesdays at 6pm - new lower entry fee - $3.50, and they also have Turbo Pack 2 as prize support.
• Machina Mayhem - the new structure deck is expected in the stores on Feb 23rd.
• Regionals Update - we're trying to set up the next regionals in late March or early April - stay tuned for all the details.  We will be hosting this at the Bonsor Community Center - near Metrotown if all goes according to plan.

Pokemon:

• NOTE: No Pokemon Hobby League on Sunday Feb 7th due to the Yu-Gi-Oh! sneak peak (sorry).
• Heart Gold and Soul Silver - Booster Draft - Sunday Feb 14th at 2pm at Granville!  Check out this fun new set.
• Heart Gold and Soul Silver boosters and theme decks go on sale Feb 10th (assuming we get our shipments on time).  We are still taking discounted box pre-orders until Feb 5th.
• Regular free Pokemon Hobby League continues on Sunday afternoons at the Granville store.  Promo Claydol's have arrived!
• Provincial Championships are coming up in March - are you ready?

Legend of the Five Rings:

• Come in for open play on Mondays and Thursdays at Renfrew.  We are sold out of Celestial Edition starters, but we will start taking pre-orders for the 15th Anniversary edition starters soon.  They are due out in March.

World of Warcraft TCG:

• Check out the calendar of events for weekly Warcraft Battlegrounds event details (Feb 7th will likely be sealed or draft, the rest of the month should be constructed, so bring your decks).

COMICS

You can always see what we're expecting this/next week on our "& Comics" page. Are you following certain titles?  Ask about our subscription service - you can save at least 10% or more depending on how many titles you are interested in.  

ROLE-PLAYING GAMES

Planned 4th edition D&D releases:

• Feb 16th: D&D Martial Power 2

The new campaign started on January 30th at Granville, but there still may be spots to jump in at the beginning.  Come by on Saturday evening if you are interested.

We're still running regular D&D games on Saturday nights at the Granville store.  We're always looking for more DM's, so if you want to set up a game at either store any time, just send me an e-mail at info(at)tcgaa.ca - DM's get to take stuff from our goody box (one item per session).

Do you want us to carry an RPG title that we currently don't?  Send us an e-mail and we'll see if we can't bring it in for you.
