Our new store at 8136 Cambie St.

We've heard from a few people that it's not easy to find our new digs.  We're located in the north units of the blue tile building at the corner of SW Marine Dr. and Cambie St.  We have parking behind the building accessible only from the alley, to enter from Cambie - turn west on 64th and south into the alley, or from east bound SW marine you can turn directly into the alley just before Cambie.  To find us from the Canada Line stop at SW Marine, exit the station and proceed north on Cambie.  Cross SW Marine drive, and stay on the east side of Cambie.  Walk north about an additional 100m and we'll be on your right.

 We are fully operational, but we are still waiting for some new display shelves, and product to fill them.  It may take us the rest of the summer to get all of the shelves and product in, so please bear with us.  We have everything that we used to carry at Granville, and we plan to augment or add the following lines.

• Comics and Trade Paperbacks - we'll be dedicating much more space to comics and trades at this location than we did at Granville.  Ask us about or subscription program so you won't miss your favourite series.
• Games Workshop - we plan to become a full "stockist" of the GW line including the new 8th edition of Fantasy, 40k, and Lord of the Rings.  It's going to take us a while to build up our tables and terrain, but we should have at least some tables ready to go very soon (it's going to take a while to build up our stock - so don't be disappointed if you don't see much when you first come in - it is coming).
• Heroclix, Monsterpocalypse, Warmachine/Hordes, Axis & Allies Minis, hobby tools, paints, and accessories - all will have an expanded presence at the new location.
• We're going to grow our section of games targeting the youger set (ages 6-10).
• Of course we still have a great selection of collectible card games and singles - we've recently purchased another large current Pokemon collection.

All of the events that we used to run at Granville, will still be run at Cambie (but always keep an eye on our calendar of events as we may add or change things around in the coming months).  AND, because we have the larger play space, we are now able to host two events at the same time - so this Sunday, we will still be hosting our Pokemon league while the MTG Core Set 2011 pre-release is happening.

I also want to thank all of the volunteers and staff that came out and helped us with the move - without you, this process would have taken a lot longer.  In no particular order - a round of applause for: Mark, Anthony, Keith, Andrew, Brendon, Harper, Matt, Akeeban, and Matheus.  (My apologies if I forgot you.)

Special Events in July & August:

• Magic the Gathering - Core Set 2011 Pre-release.  Happening at both stores, Sunday July 11th registration opens at 11am.
• Magic the Gathering - Core Set 2011 Launch Parties.  Saturday July 17th at Cambie - registration opens at 11am, Sunday July 18th at Renfrew - registration opens at 11am.
• Magic the Gathering - Core Set 2011 Game Day. Saturday August 14th at Cambie - registration opens at 11am.
• Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelist Revolution Sneak Peak - Saturday August 7th at Cambie - 11am registration opens, Sunday August 8th at Renfrew - registration opens at 11am.
  
• Pokemon release party on Sunday August 22nd at Cambie.  Stay tuned for more details on this one.
• Legend of the 5 Rings: Haiti Relief Auction Winner's Choice Tournament.  Saturday July 24th at Renfrew - registration opens at 10am.  Sure to be a full day with side events and tons of prizes (and hopefully a costume or two).
• D&D Dark Sun Game Day - to celebrate the release of the Dark Sun Campaign Setting Book on Saturday August 21st at Noon at Renfrew and Cambie.  E-mail info(at)tcgaa.ca to book youself a seat at a table.
• Hordes Genesis Event.  Come celebrate the release of Hordes Primal MK2 at Renfrew on Saturday July 31st - registration opens at Noon.

It looks like it will be a great summer for game and comic fans with lots of cool new products coming.  Hope to see you all in the store some time.
