Summer sure is flying by.  We're already planning our events for September and October, and taking pre-orders for products this fall!

Special Events:

• Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelist Revolution Sneak Peak - Saturday August 7th at Cambie - registration opens at 11am, Sunday August 8th at Renfrew - registration opens at 11am.  Entry: $25.
  
• Magic the Gathering - Core Set 2011 Game Day. Saturday August 14th at Cambie and Sunday August 15th at Renfrew - registration opens at 11am in both cases.  This is a standard constructed event - $10 entry.
• Pokemon release party on Sunday August 22nd at Cambie.  Booster draft at Cambie.  Registration starts at Noon, and we'll start the draft at 1pm (don't be late - or call if you will be).
  
• Legend of the 5 Rings: Charity tournament - Saturday Sep 18th at Renfrew (tentatively).  Details to follow.
  
• D&D Dark Sun Game Day - to celebrate the release of the Dark Sun Campaign Setting Book on Saturday August 21st at Noon at Cambie (Note: This is now happening at Cambie only).  E-mail info(at)tcgaa.ca to book youself a seat at a table.
• Magic the Gathering - Grand Prix Toronto Trial Saturday August 28th at Cambie.  Registration opens at 11am, packs will be handed out at Noon.  Format: M11 Sealed, with a top 8 booster draft - $32.50.
• D&D Red Box Game Day.  Celebrate the release of the new Red Box - a nostalgic re-print for those of us old enough to remember AD&D.  The adventure starts at Noon on Saturday September 11th at Cambie and Renfrew.  Send an e-mail to info(at)tcgaa.ca to book a spot at the table.
• Magic the Gathering - Scars of Mirrodin Pre-Release.  Sunday Sep 26th at both stores.  Registration opens at 11am, and packs will be handed out at 11:45am.
• Magic the Gathering - Scards of Mirrodin Launch Parties. Saturday Oct 2nd at Cambie, and Sunday Oct 3rd at Renfrew. Registration opens at 11am at both venues.  Format: sealed deck.
• Yu-Gi-Oh! Regionals - Saturday October 16th, Bonsor Recreation Complex.  Registration opens at 10am.

And a few changes / additions to our weekly events calendar:

• Tuesday nights are now Warhammer (Fantasy and 40k) nights at Cambie.  Drop-in open tables.  We expect people to start showing up around 6pm, but feel free to come in earlier.
• August and September FNM at Renfrew will be Standard Format.  We will switch back to draft for Scars of Mirrodin in October.
• And remember - Mondy nights at Cambie are board game night.  Drop in around 5pm-9pm for some free board game fun with our open demo copies.  Bring your friends, or bring your own games!

Lot's of great releases this summer / fall - we're now taking pre-orders for:

• September marks the release of a new Games Workshop boxed set - Islands of Blood. This new boxed set contains an exclusive mini (184 page) version of the rule book, dice, templates, and 74 models: a High Elf Prince on Griffon, a High Elf Mage, 10 High Elf Lothern Sea Guard, 10 High Elf Sword Masters of Hoeth and five Ellyrian Reavers; a Skaven Warlord, a Skaven Warlock Engineer, 40 Skaven Clanrats, a Skaven Master Moulder, two Skaven Rat Ogres, a Skaven Warpfire Thrower and a Skaven Poisoned Wind Mortar.
• August - Games Workshop Chaos Daemons releases including: Pink Horrors of Tzeentch, Seekers of Slaanesh, Daemon Prince, The Changeling, Warhammer Battle Magic: Daemons of Chaos (English), Bloodcrushers of Khorne, Kairos Fateweaver, Oracle of Tzeentch, More Famous Familiars, and Traitors of Chaos.
• Gama World RPG - the re-release of the classic post-apocalyptic world using the D&D 4E rules.
• Betrayal at House on the Hill - the revised version of this great board game, including 8 new haunts and improved pieces.
• Warmachine - new plastic Battlegroup boxed sets.  Hurry the pre-order deadline on this one is fast approaching.
• Continuing the "Forces of ..." line - Hordes Trollbloods is coming soon - again pre-order deadline approaching fast (Aug 4th).
• Magic the Gathering - Elspeth vs. Tezzeret Duel Decks.  Due out on September 3rd, pre-orders due by Aug 4th.  Quantities may be limited on these, pre-orders will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
